ADVOCACY IN ACTION
Black is American Art
A Movement. A Message. A Mandate.
Black is American Art — a bold, urgent, and inspiring national campaign affirms what we’ve always known: Black artistic contributions are not just part of the American cultural landscape; they are the foundation.
At a time when our stories are being challenged, erased, or overlooked, this campaign stands as a powerful reminder that from the rhythm of resistance to the choreography of consciousness, from the brushstroke to the bassline, from the stage to the street,
Black is American Art.
Campaign Focus
Amplifying Black artists, companies, and works who embody our history, brilliance, and resilience. Affirming Black artistry as foundational to American culture. Inspiring future generations by making our presence undeniable and unforgettable.
Why It Matters
Art is for all of us
Black is American Art directly addresses the ongoing erasure of Black history and stories by shining a spotlight on the artists, organizations, and legacies that define and shape our culture. It is also a celebration of the richness and diversity within our community — because Black art is as multifaceted as the people it represents. And, art is for all of us.
