Coalition for Diasporan Scholars Moving | CDSM
CDSM is our response to millennial-style racism in our supposed
post-racist era. Like those involved in the Civil Rights Movement of the
mid-20th century,
we are resolved to be proactive. Our fledgling organization is creating
a database, disseminating our Mission Statement, and gathering
resources (including legal counsel). A voluntary, not for profit
coalition of concerned dancer/scholars, we do not collect dues or elect
officers. We are a service organization, ready to “trouble the waters”
in order to embrace our future fully and fairly.
As
the organization grows and expands, IABD continues to bring visibility
to the dance community. We can't think of a better way to maintain this
awareness than to begin the enhancement of our existing dance directory.
Help us to shift the narrative about the lack of Black choreographers,
dance schools and studios. We know you exist.
Dance Related Services
IABD is pleased to provide this information from Our Members, and those who support the dance community, that can provide you with tools for dance related services.
The International Association of Blacks in Dance’s (IABD) Fiscal
Sponsorship program enables groups and individuals in our community to
raise funds for purposes related to IABD’s charitable mission without
the complexity of incorporating
as a separate non-profit organization.
Global Connections
The International
Association of Blacks in Dance has members and connections to all dance
forms, styles and techniques throughout the world. We continue to expand
our own cultural awareness, share dance experiences that bring new
meaning, and better inform ourselves and audiences through these
interconnections.
The International Association of Blacks in Dance (IABD) announces THE BLACK REPORT, a
financial and organizational assessment of the IABD dance company
membership. This report analyzes, a representative sample of 30
Black-led dance companies from across the United States.
