IABD Juneteenth Roundtable

Juneteenth Roundtable

In celebration of Juneteenth and Black Music Month, we invite you to experience an IABD virtual roundtable discussion celebrating Black Dance and Black Music’s relationship with each other and its connection to Resistance, Revolution, Resilience and Remembrance.

Black Music and Black Dance are intimately related in our culture. They have stood the tests of time together, not only as accomplices and accompaniments, but intertwined in each other’s creative processes. President Obama notes that African-American music has helped the country "to dance, to express our faith through song, to march against injustice, and to defend our country's enduring promise of freedom and opportunity for all.”
Join our guests on a journey of exploration of their personal experiences with Black Dance, Black Music and Freedom.
