The IABD Next Generation Leaders of IABD (NGL) is a leadership development program sponsored by The International Association of Blacks in Dance (IABD). Since 2014, the Next Generation Leaders program has developed 40 leaders from around the world and provided them with skills in nonprofit arts management and character-driven leadership. The result is a global network of cross-generational leaders who shape the world we will inhabit in the future. NGL is designed to:
1) Identify and cultivate the next generation of Black Dance leaders
2) Support IABD’s desire to create a road map for building and operating a healthier, more sustainable organization
NGL participants are the “rising stars” within IABD’s membership. They are between the ages of 25-55+. They have worked in the dance community at least 5 years or more as a Dance professional including but not limited to an activist, administrator, artist, educator, presenter, researcher, and scholar. They have demonstrated a genuine interest in the future of IABD through their participation in conference planning, operational support and/or advocacy efforts for Blacks in Dance.
