Students also have Q&A with guest faculty, KCB faculty and artistic staff, and KCB company dancers. Masterclasses are also offered when visiting companies come to KC.

Students who are housed in the newly-built dorms at KCAI attend activities on the weekends including amusement parks, shopping days, a trip to the Eleve Dancewear factory, soccer or baseball games (KC Royals), night swim, and other activities that Kansas City has to offer.

During the SI, Mr. Carney evaluates students for potential offers to become Trainees to his professional company, or members of KCB II, the next step towards professional placement (KCB II dancers receive a stipend).  Students are also evaluated for KCBS year-round Academy.  Merit and Needs-based Scholarships are available for Academy students.  Trainees may be considered for work-placement in the Academy to augment their professional experience at KCB.
