The International Association of Blacks in Dance (IABD), the service organization for dancers of color, announces a call for proposals - opportunities for artists, educators, and scholars to share their research work with conference attendees in Philadelphia, PA.

CALL FOR PROPOSALS

Submissions to be considered in the following categories for the 32nd Annual International Conference and Festival of Blacks in Dance in Philadelphia, PA:

Digital Presentation/ Film
Individual Paper
Lecture
Lecture-Demonstration
Mixed-Media
Movement Workshop
Panel
Roundtable Discussion
Other

Please use this form to submit presentations in the aforementioned categories related to the conference and festival theme, THEN, NOW, NEXT. Deadline to submit is Sunday, September 22, 2019 at 11pm EST.


SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
 
Please submit your proposal materials through the online submission link above:

1.    Completed submission form

2.    300-word abstract/explanation in WORD DOCUMENT only describing your presentation and how it relates to the conference theme

3.    200-word bio in WORD DOCUMENT only

4.    * For films, a 3 to 5-minute representative work sample is strongly encouraged. (Link to online video preferred). DVD also accepted. Please mail DVD, labeled with your name and viewing information.

The International Association of Blacks in Dance (IABD) preserves and promotes dance by people of African ancestry or origin. The IABD conference features performances, networking opportunities, seminars, workshops, panel discussions, Dance master classes, and much more.
