TU DanceJoin us, as TU Dance celebrates the opening of its 14th performance season with a special program featuring two world premieres. In Sensible Existence, commissioned by the Rosemary and David Good Family Foundation, choreographer Marcus Jarrell Willis presents movement for 5 dancers inspired by Descartes' writings on self and the world, set to 3 movements
from Steve Reich's The Desert Music. International choreographer Stefanie Batten Bland reflects on themes of racial profiling, unity and healing in 41 times, a full-company work commissioned by The O'Shaughnessy, which references the tragic 1999 police killing of Amadou Diallo.

The program also features two favorites from the company's repertory: Ron Brown's Clear As Tear Water (2005), a solo work originally created for Toni-Pierce Sands and now performed by Taylor Collier; and Uri Sands' Hikari (2014), a full-company work exploration of light originally commissioned by The Ordway, created in collaboration with print artist Hiroki Morinoue.
